What is a Google Adsense account? Is Adsense free to use? I have been involved in Online marketing long enough to notice when people started asking these two important questions. I am pretty sure you are one of them and I have just the right answers for you. This will be one of the shortest posts I have ever published on this blog. There is really nothing more to Google Adsense than what I am about to share with you.

What is a Google Adsense Account – Is Adsense Free to Use?
A Google Adsense account is simply a Google account linked to sensitive advertisements displayed on publishers’ blogs and or websites. Google Adsense is a program run by Google which allows publishers in the Google Network of content sites to serve automatic video, text, interactive media, or image advertisements that are targeted to site content and audience.
The above is what I refer to as the complex answer to a simple question. The easy answer is this: Google Adsense is a free, simple way to earn money by placing ads on your website or blog. I think this should also answer the question about whether Google Adsense is free to use or not. The only thing left for me to do is explain to you how it really works.
How to work with Google Adsense
In this post, I will explain only the main important issues relating to creating an Adsense account. In order for you to work with Adsense, you MUST have a website or a blog where Adsense ads will be displayed. You will also need this when applying for an Adsense account.
It is also important to mention how important it is for your website or blog to abide by Adsense policies before applying. Also, be sure to read the terms and conditions on the sign up page for more information. All it takes is three simple steps to get started. The steps involved in the application process include the following:
Three Steps Involved in working with an Adsense Account
The first obvious step would be to sign up for Adsense account.
All you have to do in this step is sign in using any email address you prefer. Just remember that it will always be your sign-in email for your Google Adsense account. From the image above, you will notice three steps that need to be completed. Just fill in your website URL and your personal information in the last step and you are almost good to go.
The second step involves waiting for your account to be approved before continuing with the third step. Just make sure your website or blog has enough content before applying.
TIP: Signing up using an email address related to your domain name always speeds up the approval process.
The third and final step obviously involves placing ads on your website or blog.
How to Create Google Adsense Ad Unit
The following process is much easier than you think. Once your Adsense account is approved, you will now be ready to display ads on your website. I don’t know if you have not already noticed the ads placed on this website. All you have to do is log into your Adsense account and click on “My Ads” tab located at the top menu of your dashboard. See image below for more details.
When creating an ad unit, the following important things need to be taken into consideration: the size of the ad unit, the type of ad unit and name of ad unit. To create an ad unit, you simply have to click on “New ad unit” tab as shown in the image above. As you can see from the above image, the size of my ad unit is 300×600, the type of ad unit is “Text/Image” and the name is “Success with Peter Mantu 1”. This is the same Adsense ad unit displayed on my website.
Once your ad unit is created, simply click on “Get Code” and copy the HTML code of the ad to be placed on your website. You can paste the HTML code anywhere you want to display your ads. I prefer having mine on the sidebar.
The image above shows an ad unit placed within the content of one of my previously published posts on the cost of advertising on Google or Facebook. You are more than welcome to check it out if you are interested in Google or Facebook advertising. You might learn a thing or two on the subject.
I would like to believe that you have learned as much as you can about creating a Google Adsense account. Thank you for reading this post and I wish you all the best with your business. Please share your reactions and comments below.
