A Professional Seller

It is then that Amazon will pick and pack your products from inventory before shipping to customers. Just wondering how does Amazon make their money if it is so cheap to list and do business on their website and they handle shipping and customers.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

      Hi Craig,

That is a very interesting question indeed. As much as I am not 100% about how they make their money, there is obviously a portion of a seller’s sales that gets paid to Amazon. Also, anyone advertising on the website is definitely paying to do so. Otherwise, I hope I have answered your question and hope to hear from you soon. All the best mate.

    Hi Peter,

Can i sell on Amazon if i’m not a US resident? I live in Dominican Republic and i’m thinking of buying products from China and send them to Amazon Fulfillment Centers. What do yo think about private labeling vs, retail arbitage? Do i have to pay US taxes?

  • Ilana

I see you don’t monetize your page, I know how to earn some additional cash and
get more visitors using one simple method.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Are you kidding me? First of all, this is not a page! As for you saying it’s not monetized, I am honestly left without words. All the best to you with your “simple money making” method. Thanks for stopping by though! 🙂

  • Dan

    Great post Peter.
    The process looks straightforward enough.
Out of interest how would you compare selling on amazon to selling on ebay? Do you have a preference?
    Regards.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

      Hi Dan,

You are right by saying that the process looks straightforward enough, but the question is why are others making a success from selling on Amazon while others aren’t? It’s all about doing things in a certain way…this is also the case with any similar type of businesses with totally different profit margins. As for selling eBay, I have to honest with you and say that I have no idea how it works…sorry my friend. Anyways, thanks for your comment and all the best to you.

  • Jason

    Hey Peter,

I am a seller on eBay at the moment. They have an eBay valet service that is very similar to Amazon FBA. What do you think of selling on eBay vs Amazon?

I am thinking of starting to sell on Amazon too to increase my profits, but I want to stay focused on a good sustainable profitable business before branching out into more fields.

Overall, I like what you said here in your article. I am looking forward to your advice. Thanks for sharing.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hey Jason, let me start off by thanking you for your comment.

To answer your question with absolute honesty, I have not done any research on selling on eBay. As far as increasing your profits is concerned, I would advise you not to wait any longer before you start putting one foot in front of the other. I like what you said about not committing yourself by branching out into many fields, if you can cope, then I say go for it my friend.

      All the best mate!

  • Dinh

I didn’t know how simple the process was in selling on Amazon.

I like that you can just ship your products to Amazon and they will take care of everything from handling the orders, shipping it to the customer and then handling any customer service issues that may arise. That is great because it saves you time and money. How much do they charge for doing that?

    • Peter Mantu Post author

      Hi Dinh,

Selling on Amazon is definitely easier than many people think it is. As far as cost implications are concerned, I have provided an image within this post which shows how much it costs to start. It’s free for one month, then $39.99 per month plus additional fees. My advice to you is to grab the free report I have mentioned above and learn how to do it without risking your hard earned money. 🙂

Thank you for your comment…all the best to you Dinh!

  • Michal

    Hi Peter,

You provided a lot of useful information in this post. I didn’t know that Amazon is working like that.
One question that came up my mind is: What is the difference between selling physical goods like phones, books etc. and digital stuff like e-book or courses.

Thank you very much for your answer,

    Michal

    • Peter Mantu Post author

      Hi Michal,

In short, selling digital products such as eBooks doesn’t require the use of Amazon FBA. I mentioned at the end of the post and actually provided a link to one of my previously published posts on how to write an eBook and sell it on Amazon. That link will take to a comprehensive post explaining the difference between the two. If you need more help, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thanks for your comment, I wish you all the best with your Online endeavors.

      Hi Nam,

I have to be honest with you here mate, the only thing I am selling on Amazon is my eBook but I am in the process of applying what I teach above. • Kristie

Wow, I love your site. You have very helpful information. I never thought of selling digital content like e-books. Thanks for breaking down a process that seemed somewhat overwhelming before.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hey Kristie, thanks for your comment about my site. Can you believe that I made this site look the way it does myself? I never thought I could do this but once I put my mind to it, I began to realize that it’s much easier than I thought. Enough bragging. 😉 As far as selling on Amazon is concerned, I would say that it’s the same thing as attempting to do something you have never done before. It all seems overwhelming until you make a sound DECISION to get it done. There is a lot of information on how to do things Online and all it takes is a decision to do it, once and for all. I advise you to go for anything you want and never stop until you get it done. Thanks again for your comment and I wish you all the best.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hi Guy, it’s really good to see you again. It really means a lot when I see someone paying my blog another visit. It just shows that I am on the right track to helping people achieve their success. 🙂 To answer your question, No, drop-shipping is not included in the guide as this is totally different from using the Amazon FBA. Drop shipping involves being the “middle man” where you don’t have to own inventory for any of the products you are selling. Amazon(with Amazon FBA) will handle all of this for you but if this is the route you want to opt for, feel free to do so. I hope I was able to answer your question to your full satisfaction and look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks for your comment and all the best selling on Amazon.

  • Melissa

Hi Melissa, thank you for visiting and leaving such a great comment. I must say I am still glad you found this post as I have made it a point to provide more recent and updated information about selling on Amazon.

  • Emily

    hi Peter
well I had no idea that one could do all of that with Amazon! I have sold used books on Amazon but I was the one dealing with the shipping. Although I was not dealing with the transactions per se, it would be nice if Amazon could also handle the shipping. The fees are also quite reasonable as you then have nothing to handle.

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hi Emily, it’s great to see you again! I am glad you found this post and now you can also give this an attempt. Knowing you, you should do great. 🙂

    • Peter Mantu Post author

You are more than welcome Eloah, it’s really a pleasure when someone appreciates what I have done. Selling on Amazon is really easy, all you have to do is start…Best wishes to you too!

Hi Peter,I’m currently thinking about becoming an Amazon affiliate and was wondering what your thoughts were on the affiliate subject.I would think it is different than selling your own products.I was very interested in reading over your site,You have a great bit of info on Amazon. Just wondering about your thought on being an Amazon affiliate.
    Thanks,
    Barry

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hi Barry, thanks for stopping by. I hear that you interested in becoming an Amazon affiliate. I personally don’t like focusing only on Amazon as an affiliate since their commissions are low – 4% to 15% of the product cost. I would suggest that you become a ClickBank affiliate and also feature Amazon related products on your website. Here is a post on how to become a Clickbank affiliate.
If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope to hear from you soon.

  • Peggy Menke

Hello, Peter. Wow, what great information you have. I had no idea! This is a great way to sell your own products without the customer service hassles and the storing and shipping hassles. Great article! I wish I had my own products to sell, this would be awesome!

    • Peter Mantu Post author

Hi Peggy, thanks for stopping by…to be honest with you, I wish I had my own physical products to sell too. This is definitely one of the best ways to make money as an Amazon partner. This would be awesome indeed! 🙂
